This Is a Week of Favor
There's a word we don't use enough: favor. Not luck. Not chance. Favor is different; it's the sense that you're not walking through this week alone, unnoticed, or unsupported. It's the confidence that comes from believing something or someone is working on your behalf, even in the ordinary, unremarkable moments of a Monday morning or a long Tuesday meeting.
Favor rarely shows up as a lightning bolt. It shows up as:
The door that opens a little easier than you expected
The right person showing up at the right moment
Strength you didn't know you had when the day got hard
Peace that doesn't quite make sense given the circumstances
It's easy to miss favor when we're only looking for the big, obvious wins. But favor is often quiet. It's in the small mercies stacked one on top of another until you look back and realize you were carried more than you walked, by God, of course. It's not your doing by any means.
Walking Into the Week Expecting It
Instead of walking into this week bracing for what might go wrong, what if you walked in expecting favor? Expecting the meeting to go well. Expecting the hard conversation to land softer than you feared. Expecting that you'll have exactly what you need, exactly when you need it. A decision to meet the week with open hands instead of a clenched fist.
That's what "hands up" really means. It's surrender and expectancy at the same time
Letting go of the need to control every outcome while trusting that you're covered.
So this week, whatever you're walking into, expect favor. Expect to be met. Expect that you're not doing this alone. Nothing you do or accomplish is all your doing.
Let's go. We ready.
