Some meals just feel like a hug simple ingredients, big flavor, and no stress. This Sausage & Salmon Bowl is one of those meals. It’s budget‑friendly, hearty, and comes together with pantry staples and a few fresh veggies. Perfect for a Saturday when you want something good without doing the most.
Ingredients
- 1–2 cans Double “Q” Wild Caught Alaskan Pink Salmon (14.75 oz, drained)
- 1 green bell pepper, diced
- 1 red bell pepper, diced
- 1 onion, diced
- ½ tbsp garlic (optional)
- 1 jalapeño, diced (remove seeds if you prefer less heat)
- ½ tsp each: paprika, onion powder, garlic powder (adjust to taste)
- 1–2 cups fried Hillshire turkey sausage or Roger Wood turkey/pork sausage
- ¼ cup vegetable broth (for moisture)
- Cooked rice (about 2 cups for serving)
- Seasonings of your choice (garlic powder, pepper, smoked paprika)
- Olive oil or butter for sautéing
Directions
1. Prepare your base
Cook your rice on the stovetop or in a rice cooker.
2. Sauté the veggies
Heat olive oil or butter in a skillet over medium heat. Add onions, bell peppers, and jalapeño. Cook until soft and lightly caramelized.
3. Add the protein
Stir in sliced sausage and let it brown. Add drained canned salmon, gently breaking it apart and mixing it with the veggies.
4. Season well
Add your paprika, garlic powder, onion powder, pepper, and any additional seasonings you love. Let everything cook together for a few minutes.
5. Serve
Spoon the salmon‑sausage mixture over warm rice and enjoy.
